ARTIST RESIDENCY & GALLERY IN THESSALONIKI
WHAT THE ARTIST RESIDENCY INCLUDES
The international residency program is build to support a vibrant studio practise for up to 5 artists from different disciplines to stay from 1 or 2 months. We host monthly activities and we provide artists with opportunities to connect, engage with one another, and expand their professional networks. Some of the activities include:
An individual studio in a shared space accessing it with your own key
Each artist is provided with their own dedicated studio area within a larger, vibrant shared environment. Studios are accessible at any time with a personal key, allowing for flexibility and privacy, while still encouraging exchange and collaboration with fellow residents.
Accommodation (Optional)
Each resident artist is provided with a fully serviced private apartment featuring a kitchenette. The apartments are just a one-minute walk from the studios. Have a look at the room and amenities.
Continuous One-to-One Mentorship and Assistance
We provide continuous support through regular one-to-one meetings, offering space to discuss your progress, address challenges, and receive mentorship on both artistic and professional development. Alongside these sessions, our team offers hands-on technical assistance in the workshop and curatorial guidance throughout your project — including help with materials, installation methods, conceptual framing, and preparing work for exhibition.
Final group exhibition at the end of each residency
At the end of each residency, artists participate in a curated group exhibition in our gallery space. This public event celebrates the residency’s outcomes, presenting the diverse practices of participating artists to local and international audiences. Previews exhibitions.
Visits to museums, galleries and art studios in Thessaloniki
We organise guided visits to art institutions, independent art spaces, and artist studios in Thessaloniki. These activities help residents connect with the city’s rich art scene, meet professionals, and situate their work within a wider cultural context.
Opportunity to exhibit your work to local ventures
Residents have the opportunity to showcase their work beyond the studio environment. We currently collaborate with local hotels and cultural venues, offering the possibility to exhibit your work after the residency. These partnerships create real visibility within the local community and provide a valuable platform for engaging new audiences and potential collectors.
A well equipped communal workshop
Resident artists have access to a well-equipped communal workshop designed for a wide range of artistic practices. The space encourages experimentation and knowledge-sharing, providing tools and resources that support both traditional and contemporary methods of making.
Opportunity to propose site-specific projects, presentations, workshops
Artists are encouraged to propose site-specific interventions, workshops, talks, or community-based projects during their residency. We support these initiatives logistically and promote them as ways of extending artistic practice beyond the studio and engaging new audiences.
Critiques
At the end of the residency, artists have the opportunity to share their practice and residency progress with peers.
Promotion through social media platforms
The residency actively promotes the work of our artists through our digital platforms. We share insights into your process, highlight events, and extend visibility to a growing international audience of curators, collectors, and peers.
Opportunity to sell your work at the group exhibition
During the final group exhibition, artists have the option to sell their works directly to visitors and collectors. We facilitate sales in a transparent and supportive way, ensuring that artists benefit fully from these opportunities.
